You need to download and use the latest version of Composer. You can find it via your user account on Asiga.com

Important things to consider when nesting objects in Composer.

  • Check that the correct tray is selected. In the build dialogue, select UltraGLOSS from the list of trays.
  • Enter the recommended layer thickness. The optimal layer thickness is 0.05mm (50 µ) which gives a surface finish that is clear and glossy. You can still achieve a glossy surface finish if you print with thicker layers, however, each layer will be more visible.

Optimal placement in the printer.

  • The bite splint should then be optimally positioned on the build platform to reduce the number of supports. Reducing the number of support points or eliminating them will reduce post-processing time, which will provide a better result when using UltraGLOSS trays.
  • Place the bite splint vertically and ensure that only the distal ends come into contact with the build platform.
  • Angle the splint approximately 10 degrees with the occlusal surface facing upwards.
  • The distal ends will need support. In most cases, no support is needed over the arch of the occlusal splint.
  • We recommend that you check for "islands" using the clipping tool in Composer before you start printing the bite splint.

UltraGLOSS™ in your printer.

  • If your 3D printer was manufactured before May 24, 2023, you need to update the firmware. You can download the latest version via your user account on Asiga.com
  • Check that the tray is clean and undamaged.
  • Place the UltraGLOSS tray in your 3D printer.
  • Fill the tray with material up to the marking.

Cleaning.

  • How post-processing is done is crucial to ensuring that the surface of the bite splint remains shiny. Always follow the material manufacturer's instructions carefully along with the handling advice below.
  • Handle the occlusal splint with care when cleaning. Try to minimize contact with the occlusal splint. Handle the occlusal splint in support posts if available and be careful when touching the surface during washing as it is sensitive until it is fully cured.
